The role

An outstanding opportunity for a dynamic and visionary leader to join a leading MGA Underwriter as the Property & Casualty Underwriting Manager and drive the business forwards. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you will play a pivotal role in defining and delivering our underwriting strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Lead the underwriting team to set and execute underwriting strategies, ensuring performance targets and KPIs are met across Property & Casualty product lines.
• Binder Management: Day-to-day management of binders, exercising judgment in all underwriting matters, monitoring performance, exposure, rate movement, claims trends, and capacity reviews.
• Business Development: Develop growth strategies and implement action plans. Build long-term relationships with partners.
• Agent Development: Grow the agency database through visits, promoting products, markets, and appetite.
• Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, financial planning, and monitor metrics like loss ratio and underwriting performance.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations, ensure efficiency, and drive process improvements.
• Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with FCA regulations and manage risks.
• Customer-Centric Approach: Align underwriting strategy with agent needs and satisfaction, ensuring a customer-first service.
• Team Development: Foster collaboration, accountability, and inclusivity; nurture talent and develop high-performing teams.
