Job summary

BMT seeks a Senior Complex Systems Engineer / Consultant – Underwater Complex Systems to lead delivery across submarine combat systems. You will operate within a specialist team, shaping delivery approaches and managing risks to ensure on-time, within-budget outcomes.

You will collaborate with Project Managers and stakeholders to sustain in-service capabilities and explore new non-defence underwater system domains. Flexible/hybrid working is available where possible.

Qualifications

• UK-born sole national with five years of UK residency.
• Ability to obtain and maintain full UK security clearance.
• Experience in defence, naval or underwater systems engineering environments.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality engineering support across submarine combat systems and underwater complex systems.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to shape delivery approaches, identify and mitigate risks, and develop robust project plans.
• Ensure effective stakeholder engagement and communication at all stages of project delivery.
• Support sustaining in-service capabilities and development of next-generation complex system solutions.
