Job description

Senior Underground Designer

As a Senior Designer, you will support the lead designer in carrying out the following tasks within specified timelines and budgets:

1. Coordinate, model in E3D, and produce composite underground services drawings showing all underground services such as drainage, firewater, potable water, cable trenches, etc.
2. Coordinate, model in E3D, and produce drawings showing all paving, access roads, haul roads, and service roads.

Requirements

• Civil and Structural Designer with formal qualifications
• Minimum of 10 years of experience
• Proficient in the use of E3D, able to advise and guide junior designers
• Ability to manage a team of designers located overseas
• Creation of project-specific job notes, guides, and training materials to ensure consistent deliverables
• Organize schedules and resources within the team to meet project deadlines
• Break down project tasks to drawing level and estimate resources needed to complete milestones
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Effective in prioritizing tasks and agile in addressing urgent issues
• Capable of working independently and within a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to work in an office-based role

Desired Skills and Experience

• Structural catalogues and specifications for Smart Plant 3D, including project-specific joints, fittings, and sections
• Structural templates for Smart Plant 3D
• Draw administration skills, including adding project-specific backing sheets, symbols, logos, and styles
• Experience in creating regular reports to track weight, MTO, etc.
• Interest or skills in programming and customization using PML or C#
