Job summary

TPXimpact Ltd is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to provide senior technical leadership on Umbraco platforms. You will work with engineers, QA, and project managers to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget, focusing on long-term platforms and architectural decisions.

You will lead architecture, plan major upgrades, oversee code quality, and guide engineers while collaborating with the Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• Deep Umbraco expertise: hands-on experience with production platforms and major version upgrades.
• Strong .NET and C# capability with clean, maintainable code.
• Upgrade and migration experience on live sites, package compatibility assessment.
• Long-term platform ownership and debt management.
• Proficiency designing and implementing APIs and integrations in complex ecosystems.
• Database design and efficient querying for web apps.
• Experience with cloud hosting, Azure/Umbraco Cloud, and deployment workflows.
• Front-end development skills for responsive UI and accessibility.
• Commitment to WCAG standards and accessible design.
• Security by design across the development lifecycle.
• Proven agile technical leadership without direct line management.
• Strong client-facing communication and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Set and uphold Umbraco standards for client platforms.
• Plan major Umbraco upgrades and assess integration compatibility.
• Lead architectural decisions balancing budget, team, and long-term maintenance.
• Manage hosting decisions and Umbraco Cloud deployments.
• Contribute to shared standards through collaboration with other leads.
• Define technical delivery plans with scope, risk, and timelines.
• Guide agile delivery ceremonies and ensure on-time delivery.
• Engage the project team and ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Maintain technical health and surface risks early.
• Maintain client relationships and coordinate with engineering managers.
• Support growth of the engineering team and promote quality engineering.
