Senior UK Finance Manager

We have been retained by one of the global leaders in Home Mechanical Ventilation, Airway Clearance, and Sleep therapy for an exciting opportunity for a Senior UK Finance Manager at their Stratford-upon-Avon site.

The UK Senior Finance Manager will oversee the financial operations of the UK entity, ensuring accurate financial reporting and providing strategic financial guidance to support both the UK and Group objectives. This role requires strong leadership and a thorough understanding of financial principles.

This position holds overall responsibility for the UK Finance function, including line management of the Finance team, and represents the UK within the Global Finance Team.

As a member of the UK senior management team, the role involves ensuring effective management of the UK organization to meet Group and UK targets, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance

• Lead the UK Finance function, guiding the local Finance team to meet objectives and maintain a robust financial control environment.
• Act as finance business partner for senior managers and UK functional leads.
• Manage month and year-end closings, ensuring timely and compliant financial reporting according to UK regulations and Group standards.
• Prepare financial reports for internal management, HQ, and external authorities, including Annual Financial Statements.
• Ensure compliance with all financial reporting and taxation requirements for the UK entity.
• Analyze business performance and KPIs; develop understanding of costs and margins.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning, working with budget holders to control costs and improve efficiencies.
• Manage cash flow, including short- and medium-term forecasting.
• Coordinate external audits and ensure timely statutory reporting.
• Maintain relationships with UK banking and regulatory stakeholders.
• Authorize financial transactions, including payroll, accounts payable, and receivables.
• Oversee credit management processes and customer compliance.
• Approve purchase invoices and payments.
• Review and approve tax computations, VAT returns, and tax administration.
• Improve finance routines and processes, promoting simplification and efficiency.
• Work closely with the business to enhance financial flows and support growth.
• Maintain professional knowledge in finance, tax, and compliance.
• Serve as superuser for JDE Finance UK, developing and sharing ERP system knowledge.
• Collaborate with HQ Finance and build relationships with key suppliers to optimize cash flow.
• Lead and develop the UK Finance team.

HR & Payroll

• Manage administration of insurance, pensions, and employee benefits.
• Support legal and insurance renewals, and oversee payroll and bonus transactions.

Member of the UK Senior Management Team

• Participate in strategic planning and alignment with global goals.
• Contribute to UK regulatory committees and policies.
• Partner with the UK Managing Director and senior managers.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of UK financial regulations and compliance standards.
• At least six years of senior finance experience.
• BSc in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience with tier 1 ERP systems.
• Extensive knowledge of UK GAAP.
• Experience in an international group environment preferred.
• Background in SME manufacturing preferred.
• Excellent communication skills for complex financial information.
• Proven leadership with team management experience.
• Strategic thinking and sound decision-making skills.
• Hybrid working model, with at least 3 days in the office.
