Job summary

Rocksteady Studios, part of Warner Bros. Discovery, is seeking a Senior UI Programmer to write, extend and refine UI features for world-class AAA games across multiple platforms. You will report to the Lead UI Programmer and collaborate with artists and designers to deliver high-quality UI experiences.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis, with on-site collaboration in London on selected days and remote work on others. Join a team pushing UI architecture and user experience to new heights.

Qualifications

• Experience architecting and maintaining UI systems for complex video games, including MVVM.
• Advanced knowledge of C++ and graphics principles.
• Experience shipping at least one AAA video game title.
• Experience with Unreal Engine 5 and UMG.

Responsibilities

• Driving and implementing UI features and systems through all stages of production: design, scheduling, implementation and polish.
• Giving input into the development of new features and iterations of existing ones.
• Working with artists and designers to deliver outstanding user experiences.
• Maintaining high engineering standards through code reviews and collaboration.
• Ensuring UI features meet performance, memory, and scalability requirements.

SENIOR UI PROGRAMMER

Rocksteady is looking to add to its family of staff: The Senior UI Programmer will write, extend and refine UI features in world-class triple-A videogaming experiences for our players across multiple platforms. Reporting to the Lead UI Programmer, you’ll take on advanced architectural and implementation challenges to push the boundaries of UI coding for video games, and in collaboration with artists and designers, deliver the highest quality game experience for our players.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis. You can choose to work from home or in the office on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the team collaborates onsite at Rocksteady Studios in Kentish Town, London.

Responsibilities

• Driving and implementing UI features and systems through all stages of production: design, scheduling, implementation and polish
• Giving constructive and proactive input into the development of new features and the iteration of existing ones
• Working closely with artists and designers to produce outstanding user experiences
• Exemplifying development best practices with strong communication, proactive problem solving and a strong commitment to quality
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to maintaining high engineering standards
• Ensure UI features meet performance, memory, and scalability requirements

Requirements

• Advanced understanding of C++
• Solid understanding of relevant computer graphics and game technology principles
• Experience architecting and maintaining UI systems for complex video games, including the use of Model-View-ViewModel architecture
• experience with Unreal Engine 5 and UMG
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience working on and shipping at least one AAA video game title

Desired

• Experience with Unreal Engine’s Common UI, Enhanced Input, MVVM plugin and Slate
• Experience with shaders and Unreal Engine materials
• Experience with accessibility and localization
• A passion for creating intuitive and polished user experiences

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager.
