About this position:

Context Labs is seeking a Senior User Interface Engineer to help drive the development of our online user experience efforts. As a technical leader on the engineering team, you will help with all aspects of UI design and development. You will work closely with stakeholders to determine optimal user experiences and collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to implement them. This diverse role requires a strong grasp of front-end architecture and development. This position reports directly to the SVP of Engineering.

In this role you will:

• Implement scalable, and maintainable technological solutions for UIs.
• Perform frontend design, UI architecture, requirements analysis, investigation of new technologies, and software development.
• Lead the UI team in creating estimates, assist with planning resources and tasks, and track team progress throughout the software development life cycle.
• Collaborate with the development team and the product owner to define and estimate requirements and translate these into specific development tasks.
• Be hands-on in software development using current front-end frameworks and techniques.
• Lead the UI development team to develop products with best practices in software development.
• Establish and enforce standards for front-end development including performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Lead by example, coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members.
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies.
• Perform other duties as reasonably required by the company.

Experience:

• 6+ years in UI development
• Understanding of modern application architectures
• Attention to detail with a big picture perspective
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript, NodeJS, and NPM
• Experience with RESTful API integration
• Proficiency with HTML5 & CSS3
• Expertise with VueJS 3 and Nuxt 3
• Proficiency in testing (unit and functional)
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC
• Experience in DevOps environments with testing and automation
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins
• Experience with internationalization, localization, containerization (Docker), and cross-platform development tools
• Strong communication skills
• Experience with backend programming and data visualization frameworks (Cytoscape, D3, Plotly, Vega, echarts)
• Experience developing reusable UI components (Lerna, Storybook)
• Experience with Kubernetes environments and accessible UI development
