The Gigg

As a visionary leader, you'll guide the creative direction at IDX, partnering with the Head of Design to shape innovative digital solutions. Replacing our current Senior UI Design Lead and acting as an individual contributor, you’ll guide, mentor, and inspire the Design team, ensuring high performance and creativity while maintaining a strong focus on business goals and profitability.

You will build strategic client relationships, communicate complex design strategies, and oversee the delivery of impactful digital experiences. With deep expertise in design tools and processes, you'll manage multiple projects, ensuring each solution is tailored, forward-thinking, and aligned with client objectives.

What You'll Be Doing

• Focus on selected projects and clients aligned to you, helping to establish and nurture team and client relationships and quality of delivery.
• Champion the merits of solutions with drive and passion, guiding the team to encourage rapid progress.
• Support and in some cases lead business development activities contributing expert design input to pitches, proposals, and client presentations.
• Accurately scope, estimate effort, and define boundaries and tasks for a variety of projects of any size.
• Directly assist the Head of Design in providing leadership to the department, challenging them to ensure they are achieving their full potential, both internally and towards client work; guiding them toward innovation and new ideas.
• Assist and lead in the recruitment and orientation of new staff.
• Help to further define the vision and future development of the Design function, promoting a culture of innovation and teamwork whilst building closer relationships with other departments.
• Understand the team, their skills, and interests to best match them to clients and projects so that they both complement and challenge each other.

About You

• Previous experience in a similar role with the ability to communicate and influence with clear, compelling ideas and reasoning.
• Highly skilled in digital interaction design with a creative yet strategic mindset.
• At ease communicating with clients, partners, and colleagues of all levels, while making complex concepts easy to understand.
• Champion user-centred design and contribute to cross-functional teams.
• Set clear expectations for project quality and speed, proactively identifying and avoiding potential issues.
• Skilled across a wide range of areas, knowing when to tap into others’ expertise.
• Constantly seek feedback and critique to improve quality and approach.
• Organised, self-motivated, and driven to succeed.
• Curious and passionate about the impact of interactivity on the world and design.
