Job summary

Future Talent Group seeks a Senior Electrical Payload Integration Engineer to join a defence tech team in West Wales. You will drive electrical integration of sensor and communications payloads on high-performance UAS and work with avionics specialists across integration, testing and validation stages.

The role is hands-on, involving HIL testing, wiring harness design and close collaboration with systems engineers to ensure robust interfaces and data networks for mission payloads.

Qualifications

• Electrical/electronic design background required.
• Experience wiring harness design and ArduPilot/PX4 integration.
• Degree or Modern Apprenticeship with HNC/HND preferred.
• Strong EMI/EMC, grounding and power distribution knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement custom electrical interfaces, wiring harnesses and power networks for payloads.
• Integrate payloads with UAS aircraft and avionics systems.
• Perform Hardware-in-the-Loop testing, bench evaluations and signal integrity checks.
• Analyze power budgets and high-speed data networks.
• Diagnose EMI/EMC and communications issues during integration and flight tests.
• Produce ICDs, wiring diagrams and test procedures.
• Collaborate with avionics, systems and payload specialists through integration and validation.
