Clinical Fellow in Medical Oncology ST3-ST5 (MT04)(with on-call commitments)

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow in Medical Oncology to start in September 2025.

Appointment to this post offers excellent experience of medical oncology for those wishing to pursue a career in this field. There is an active postgraduate teaching programme and all oncology trainees (or equivalent) are expected to attend. The department has a wide portfolio of clinical trials and an active clinical research programme. Post holders will work directly with one or more Consultant Oncologists and alongside other oncology specialist trainees. Experience in Medical Oncology at ST level is essential. All candidates should have full registration with the GMC and MRCP or equivalent is essential.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be one of 9 middle grade doctors in medical oncology, 18 middle grade doctors in clinical oncology, 3 speciality doctors and 11 ST1/2 level doctors in oncology. The trainee will take part in the on call rota. Training in this post will be within the Department of Oncology at University College Hospital. The department provides comprehensive care for all types of cancer. In addition to local and regional services for the commoner tumours, it provides supraregional services for rarer tumour types including brain, sarcomas and paediatric and adolescent oncology. The department is functionally integrated with clinical haematology which has a major practice in haematological oncology including transplant
