Job description

Senior Troubleshooter Technician - Onshore Wind, Treorchy

We are seeking an experienced wind turbine troubleshooter technician to join the Pen Y Cymoedd (PYC) site team, part of Vattenfall’s Onshore Wind Operations UK in the Business Area Wind.

As a technician, you will work within a site team to maintain operational and technical performance through scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, ensuring the safe optimization of daily production at PYC.

Your responsibilities include:

• Supporting the PYC site team in controlling all site activities through rigorous and documented processes;
• Diagnosing faults, repairing, and performing planned maintenance on the 3DD turbine platform;
• Providing detailed work activity reports on SAP systems;
• Assisting with facilities management and administrative tasks as needed;
• Achieving targets aligned with the site team’s KPIs;
• Executing work safely according to Vattenfall’s safety rules and regulations, obtaining necessary authorizations, and complying with contractual and site rules;
• Implementing operational procedures, supporting HSE compliance, and developing new processes;
• Providing out-of-hours and weekend response according to the Emergency Response Plan;
• Maintaining maintenance records and manuals in the Vattenfall Document Management System.

Location:

Pen Y Cymoedd site, Treorchy, South Wales, UK.

Qualifications:

• Technical qualification in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines to NVQ3 level or equivalent engineering apprenticeship;
• Proven experience as a maintenance and troubleshooting technician with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems knowledge;
• Ability to work within diverse teams and meet deadlines;
• Willingness to work at heights and in adverse weather conditions, in line with RUK/GWO standards;
• Knowledge of HSE requirements and industry best practices;
• Full UK driving license;
• Must reside within a 45-minute commute to the site.
