The Secured Funding Team is responsible for structuring, issuing, and maintaining wholesale funding which is secured by Nationwide’s residential mortgages. There are three types of wholesale funding that the team are responsible for – covered bonds, securitisation (specifically RMBS - Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities) and central bank funding schemes.

We are looking for an individual with strong analytical/problem solving mindset and an understanding of mortgages who is interested in taking the next step in their career to join our team as a Secured Funding Senior Analyst. Naturally, we'll expect you to be a great fit in to the culture of the Treasury team, be an advocate of everything the Society stands for and always be seeking to do the right thing.

At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at our London office. Whilst these locations are where we are primarily looking to fill the role, if you’re an internal applicant based in a different location we would welcome your application and if successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this could work for this specific role. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.

If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.

What you’ll be doing

    • Cash management – you will be responsible for calculating and transacting the movement of cashflows that arise from pledged mortgages.
    • Facilitating audits on the secured funding programmes.
  • Alongside this there are numerous opportunities to get involved with:
    • The development and maintenance of the teams reporting function, processes, and systems.
    • New initiatives (both internal and external) and consideration of the impact they may have on the Society’s funding programmes.
    • Help to solve investor queries as they occur.
    • Adhoc problem solving and data analysis on vast datasets for both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Engaging with other areas of the Society to see the bigger picture and understanding how the team’s activities help reward our members and deliver value to Nationwide.
    • Supporting on credit rating processes for new issuances and programme reviews.
