Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire - University Hospital Wishaw is seeking a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in the lower limb to join the Trauma and Orthopaedic Service.

The post is based primarily at University Hospital Wishaw with cross-site working as required, delivering urgent general and subspecialist lower limb trauma care and opportunities for elective knee and hip arthroplasty and periprosthetic fracture management.

Qualifications

• Fully registered with the GMC and able to practice as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon.
• Experience in lower limb trauma and elective lower limb procedures.
• Commitment to governance, patient safety, and service improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide urgent general trauma and subspecialist lower limb trauma care.
• Develop and deliver lower limb elective orthopaedics including knee/hip arthroplasty where appropriate.
• Support service development, governance and quality improvement within the orthopaedic service.
