Job summary

Tetra Tech Europe is seeking a Principal or Senior Transport Planner to join the Transport North team in delivering development-led transport projects across private and public sectors. You will lead assessments, travel plans, and EIA inputs, mentor colleagues, and support business development while maintaining strong client relationships.

You will influence planning outcomes by providing data-driven transport insights, working with developers and local authorities, and guiding multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Degree or Masters in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related field.
• Desirable professional accreditation (CIHT, CILT, TPP or ICE).
• UK consultancy experience in transport planning essential.
• Strong report writing and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and EIA inputs.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to team development.
• Support business development through fee proposals and client relationships.
• Engage with developers, local authorities and multidisciplinary teams.
• Drive high-quality delivery across projects, with site visits as needed.
• Balance office and home working with client meetings and site visits.
