Job summary

SLR Consulting in Scotland is seeking a Principal or Associate to lead our transport planning team. You will deliver projects, grow the client base, and strengthen our presence across Scotland and beyond.

You'll mentor junior staff, manage bids, and work across planning, environmental and engineering disciplines within a collaborative, people-first culture. We offer hybrid working, a discretionary bonus, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Extensive UK transport planning consultancy experience.
• Experience across residential, retail, commercial, healthcare and energy sectors.
• Relevant degree and professional membership (MCIHT or equivalent).
• Proven ability to win work and develop client relationships.
• Technical expertise in transport planning and appraisal.
• Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with JUNCTIONS and LINSIG is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of transport planning projects across a diverse client portfolio.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships that generate repeat business.
• Identify opportunities, support bids and contribute to winning new work.
• Lead client meetings, presentations and stakeholder engagement.
• Manage project performance, profitability and programme delivery.
• Mentor developing team members and support growth of the team.
