Job description

Seven logistics is looking for an experienced Transport Planner with strong communication skills, good customer facing abilities, and the ability to lead a team. As an experienced traffic planner, you will have a wealth of knowledge to help support the day-to-day functions of the traffic office and ensure our customers receive the best service we can offer.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Planning work from Felixstowe, London Gateway, Whittlesea, and Southampton
  • Managing allocated trucks and ensuring revenues and service levels are met
  • Managing drivers and ensuring communication and relationships are maintained at high levels
  • Ensuring all current day issues are managed and resolved efficiently
  • Booking and ensuring VBS are booked correctly
  • Travel to other depots will be required, including regular visits to our Southampton Depot.

Skills and Attributes Required:

  • Essential – More than 5 years of experience in a planning role
  • Ability to maintain a high level of traffic planning under pressure
  • Knowledge of Truckcom preferred
  • Understanding of port and VBS systems
  • Knowledge of the haulage and container industry
  • Attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Good people and team-building skills
  • Ability to multi-task
