Job description

We are looking to recruit a Senior Transport Planner in Wednesbury.

Working hours:

  1. 40 hours per week
  2. Week 1: 0600 - 1430
  3. Week 2: 0930 - 1800
Role Overview

You will manage the daily operations of the Depot, including vehicle allocation and routing, to ensure excellent service delivery, safety standards, and compliance with environmental and O licence regulations. You will also support employee engagement, and continuous improvement in productivity and service quality.

Core Responsibilities
  • Promote a “Safety First” culture.
  • Plan the Northern Tanker fleet efficiently on a daily basis.
  • Ensure compliance with DVLA, EU Drivers Hours Regulations, and working time directives.
  • Achieve all BIFFA compliance KPIs periodically.
  • Manage performance and disciplinary processes as needed.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries to ensure satisfaction.
  • Monitor vehicle availability, maintenance, and breakdowns to maintain service continuity.
  • Seek continuous operational improvements.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of the transport industry.
  • Understanding of Road Transport Directive, drivers hours, and working time regulations.
  • Ability to manage a diverse fleet effectively.
