Job Title: Senior Transport Planner

Company: Established Transport Planning team with offices in Fareham, Oxford, and Cambridge

Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Transport Planner to join our team. Your responsibilities will include delivering Travel Plans, Transport Assessments, Access Appraisals, and Junction Models for clients across sectors such as Residential, Commercial, Sports & Leisure, and more. You will lead and support Graduate Transport Planners and junior team members, interact with clients, and collaborate with Principals and Associate Transport Planners to develop your business skills.

The team comprises over 25 professionals, and you can be based in any of our Cambridge or Fareham offices. We offer a sociable working environment with regular company events and a bonus scheme based on team performance.

Requirements:
  • Degree qualification or equivalent experience
  • Membership of relevant professional organization
  • Minimum 5 years of transport planning experience
  • Knowledge of national design guidance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with computer systems, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage workload and delegate tasks
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, check, and approve technical reports such as Transport Assessments and Travel Plans
  • Manage projects, including budgets and timelines
  • Liaise with clients and authorities
  • Train junior staff
  • Complete planning drawings (visibility splays, vehicle tracking, access designs)
  • Participate in public consultations, meetings, and hearings
  • Develop fee proposals and tenders
  • Utilize modelling packages for trip generation and distribution
  • Support team members and cover responsibilities as needed
  • Attend business development and networking events
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives and client relationships
  • Stay informed about market sectors and support promotional activities
