Job description

My client are a rapidly growing 3PL business based in Oxfordshire, that through their continued growth have created a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Transport Planner to join their team.

The Senior Transport Planner based in Oxfordshire will play a key role within the planning team, for an exciting and ever growing 3PL business.

The successful candidate will be taking responsibility for optimising the movement of goods, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation solutions.

You will develop and implement transport strategies, manage daily operations, and ensure compliance with regulations. This includes coordinating vehicle and load planning, managing driver and vehicle scheduling, and overseeing the execution of transport plans across multiple sites.

A key component of the role will be managing and coordinating transport planning projects, including the selection, engagement, and oversight of subcontractors. This includes ensuring subcontractors adhere to project requirements, timelines, and quality standards, as well as managing relationships and communication with them.

The successful candidate of the Senior Transport Planner role based within Oxfordshire, will have the following experience and skill set.

  • Proven experience in engaging, managing, and developing subcontractor relationships to ensure high service standards and long-term operational efficiency.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with tachograph regulations, analysis, and compliance to support legal and safety obligations.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to challenging conventional methods, driving continuous improvement, and enhancing operational processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain agile under pressure, making real-time decisions and adjustments to transport plans to maintain service performance and responsiveness.
