Opportunity for a Senior or Principal Transport Planner to join our growing team in Bedford.

We opened Transport Planning in Bedford in 2018, with Chris Elliott, who was previously an Associate Director at Vectos in London. A few years down the line we have a well balanced team, who deliver excellent work locally, regionally and nationally, as part of our national transport planning and multidisciplinary teams (civil engineering, landscape planning and design and water and environmental management).

Your day-to-day work with us will include
  • Technical reports such as Access Appraisals, Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and WCHARs with support from colleagues.
  • Junction capacity modelling and CAD design work.
  • Project management of projects, with support from colleagues.
  • Assisting with the financial management of projects, from drafting fee proposals to invoicing, with support from colleagues.
  • Mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Liaising with stakeholders, external project team members and clients.
  • Representing the company at meetings, public consultations and exhibitions.
  • Undertaking site visits.
  • Business development.
  • Managing own workload with support from colleagues.
What we are looking for in you
  • Experience of working on developments within a range of sectors including residential, commercial and education.
  • Working knowledge of traffic (junction & strategic) modelling software.
  • Understanding and experience in working on strategic development sites.
  • Knowledge and experience in liaising with stakeholders.
  • Sound undertaking of the plan-making process and impact on transport-related assessment work.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • The Right to Work in the UK (we are unable to provide visa sponsorship now or in the future).
