Job summary

Panda is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to own transport and collection operations across an assigned area. You will lead a large team, manage cost control, fleet utilisation and regulatory compliance while ensuring safe service delivery across all channels.

The role requires a Transport Manager CPC and willingness to be named on the company’s Operator’s Licence, with strong commercial focus and accountability for operational performance.

Qualifications

• Proven management experience within transport, logistics or waste management.
• Willingness to be named on Operator’s Licence.
• Strong knowledge of transport legislation and the Working Time Directive.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the operational P&L across revenue streams, including budgeting, cost control and financial reporting.
• Lead daily transport and collection operations, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and consistently.
• Maintain an accurate demand and resource plan covering drivers, vehicles and operational requirements.
• Improve route planning, fleet utilisation and productivity while protecting service quality.
• Act as a named Transport Manager on the company’s Operator’s Licence.
• Ensure compliance with Operator’s Licence requirements, transport legislation, Working Time Directive requirements and internal standards.
