Job Purpose
The BBC is seeking a qualified Transport Manager to join our Media Operations team. Our team manages the craft and production operations for the BBC's news, radio, and sport services across London, Salford, and Birmingham, delivering content 24/7 for TV, radio, and online. The role involves ensuring vehicle compliance, coordinating maintenance, liaising with suppliers, and managing statutory requirements. The position is based between our London OB bases in NW10 and W3.
Interview process
Main Responsibilities
Manage vehicle fleet compliance and maintenance, work with operational managers, liaise with suppliers, and ensure adherence to statutory requirements. The role includes being the named person on the operator license for London & South East England, subject to approval by the Traffic Commissioner.
Candidate Requirements
Experience in managing statutory compliance within a transport environment, relevant qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH, Transport Manager CPC), and practical experience in vehicle maintenance are essential. A Certificate of Professional Competence for Transport Managers (Road Haulage) Level 3 is preferred. LGV1 license is desirable but not essential.
