We are currently seeking a Senior Transport Coordinator to join our transport team at our Port Salford site on a full-time 12-month fixed-term basis.

Working hours: Monday-Friday, 12-8.

Salary: £34,481 per annum.

As Senior Transport Coordinator, you will manage and oversee the transport operation, ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained. You will plan driver and vehicle resources to meet delivery and collection times.

Key Duties of a Senior Transport Coordinator:

  • Optimise resource allocation and ensure adherence to WTD and drivers’ hours legislation.
  • Sign off and oversee an effective transport plan to achieve on-time delivery and collection performance expectations.
  • Manage own and subcontractor resources to meet delivery and collection times, creating and updating daily run summaries.
  • Communicate effectively with the Planning team, Customer Service, other depots, and directly with customers when required.
  • Monitor arrival and departure times to ensure deliveries are within specified windows.
  • Find the best-fit solutions for customer collections, adhering to collection times.
  • Ensure investigations and disciplinary actions are carried out in line with company processes and procedures.
  • Log, investigate, and report all accidents, incidents, and near misses.
  • Conduct colleague reviews.
  • Liaise with and plan drivers for meetings and training courses as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proven knowledge and experience of tachograph and driving rules and regulations.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Good IT skills, including MS Office, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
