About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Transport Clerk to work in our busy Transport office. You will support the day-to-day administration of the Transport department, overseeing the tasks, planning, and functions of the Transport Clerks. They will report to the Transport Manager and contribute to the Department's success by ensuring KPIs are continually met.
It is essential to have a keen eye for detail, an understanding of drivers' hours and tachograph regulations, and good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and email. Strong administration skills and good communication are required.
Note: Prior to employment, you must successfully complete a drug and alcohol test.
Eligibility: We do not accept applications from candidates residing outside the UK and must be living within a commutable distance.
Main Responsibilities
- Planning tasks and functions of the Transport Clerks
- Delivering weekly and periodic data gathering and reporting routines in line with operating modes
- Supporting the delivery of cost, safety, productivity, service, and cultural objectives
- Ensuring vehicles depart at the correct temperature
- Pre-brief and debrief compliance
- Pre-journey driver checks carried out by the Clerks
- Administering legal compliance
- Covering day and/or night shifts as per rota
- Supporting the management team by covering section managers' holidays
