Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority seeks a Chief Financial Officer to lead financial management, budgeting and accounting, driving long‑term fiscal sustainability. The role requires steering treasury, capital finance and risk, while collaborating with senior executives, auditors and regulators to optimize resources.

The CFO will guide financial planning, reporting, and policy development, ensuring transparency and strong governance across the agency and its stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field.
• 15+ years of progressively responsible financial leadership in public/private sectors.
• 7+ years in a leadership role with complex budgets and planning.
• Extensive experience in GAAP, regulatory compliance, audits and controls.
• Experience with treasury, debt, investments and capital markets.

Responsibilities

• Directs financial management, treasury, risk, capital finance and accounting.
• Serves as senior financial advisor to CAO, GM and the Board.
• Leads multi-year pro forma financial projections and external partnerships.
• Oversees operating and capital budgets and financial policies.
• Ensures compliance with GAAP, GASB, and funding regulations.
• Represents the Authority with boards, regulators and partners.
