This role is based in London and covers all aspects of Transfer Pricing, working closely with the UK and US-based tax teams, finance professionals, and business personnel worldwide. The role reports to the EMEA and APAC Head of Tax and Partnership. It offers long-term development potential for someone eager to demonstrate their skills in a fast-paced financial services environment.
Transfer Pricing Support for the Business:
- Acts as a subject matter expert
- Defines transfer price mechanisms for all intercompany transactions within the group and ensures compliance with the arm’s length standard
- Prepares and maintains an intercompany matrix for all transactions
- Analyzes business flows
- Assists in developing supportable pricing methodologies
- Supports tax compliance processes on Master and Local files
- Reviews all intercompany agreements
- Collaborates with business leaders, finance, treasury, legal, and other teams on business and tax planning issues
- Prepares and reviews valuations, economic, and financial analyses from a transfer pricing perspective
- Monitors global transfer pricing environment
- Manages quarterly reporting to predict provisions in collaboration with tax and finance teams
- Coordinates with global tax and local finance teams to implement solutions
Country by Country Reporting (CbCR):
- Currently driven from the US
- Works closely with the US tax team to ensure reports meet Pillar tests and ETR safe harbor requirements
UK and Other Formal Documentation Requirements:
- Develops local documentation to meet tax law requirements in each country
- Identifies gaps, analyzes flows, and documents as needed
Transfer Pricing Audit Support:
- Collaborates with local finance teams to develop audit support and defense strategies
- Identifies key risks before audits to prepare defenses
Tax Planning and M&A Support:
- Provides transfer pricing input on M&A deals, restructuring, modeling, and advisory projects
- Analyzes tax law changes, including OECD BEPS proposals
- Works with senior management to identify risks and develop strategies
- Develops TP policies covering intra-group IP, services, revenue shares, cross-border transactions, funding, and financing
- Keeps TP policies updated according to developments; manages updates to the Global Master File from the UK
Skills / Experience Required:
- Interaction with the Tax team and integration into the wider tax functions
- Engagement with tax compliance and planning areas (VAT, International Tax, UK tax, US taxes, Tax technology)
- Confidence in expertise and ability to communicate effectively with business leaders and finance professionals
- Experience in Financial Services is helpful but not essential
- Excellent communication skills with the gravitas to influence and build networks
- Relevant professional qualifications
- Organized, self-motivated, and deadline-oriented
- Ability to access accounting systems and analyze data is a plus
