Job summary

The NHS England National School of Healthcare Science seeks a Training Programme Director to lead national duties and represent healthcare science regionally. This fixed-term post (until 31 March 2027) is open to secondment from your substantive employer and will drive the Scientist Training Programme across the four nations.

Reporting to the Head of School, you will shape education, develop workforce transformation priorities, and ensure high-quality programmes across 32 sciences; 40% in-person

Qualifications

• Honours degree in appropriate science and HCPC registration.
• Postgraduate qualification or equivalent.
• Doctoral level qualification or equivalent academic experience.
• Education or teaching qualification.
• Experienced in survey design and analysis to inform programme deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and delivery of national healthcare science training programmes.
• Provide regional leadership for Scientist Training Programmes.
• Support transformation initiatives and workforce development across NHSE.
• Collaborate with NHSE partners and education providers to deliver high-quality programmes.
