A global leader in security solutions in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a Training Needs Analyst to lead the identification of training needs and deliver effective training solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in Training Analysis frameworks and be proficient in English. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to adapt to a global environment, supporting internal and external training needs.

A critical position in Smiths Detection’s Global Training and Technical Documentation department. The role holder will collaborate with a breadth of global stakeholders, internally and externally, and will have regular contact with other departments across Smiths Detection globally. The role holder will need to manage and deliver both internal and external Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and have strong analytic and customer relationship skills. This role supports the Training Analysis, Design and Technical Documentation pillar of the Global Training and Documentation department. The key objective is to conduct TNA in a manner that is both flexible and robust. The role holder will demonstrate consultancy and domain/capability experience and will be able to operate across a complex environment both culturally and technically. The role holder implements and delivers standard training methodologies (such as the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) or ADDIE models) and project management frameworks, plus providing the customer with additional value through training analysis to inform their decision making.
Education: A formal qualification in the conduct of TNA is desirable but not essential. A higher-level qualification in Training Management, Training Analysis or related HR function. Willing to work towards additional professional development targets.
Knowledge/Skills: You have exceptional standards of written English. You demonstrate significant knowledge of at least one Training Analysis framework (such as ADDIE, SAM or other). You demonstrate knowledge of JSP 822 including some experience of delivering the component parts of DSAT. You have experience in producing and/or assuring comprehensive TNA reports. You have experience working in a project environment in target markets, with intellectual flexibility to work in new sectors within Smiths Detection Global markets. You have experience working with internal learning teams to identify internal learning pathways through role analysis. You are proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). You can handle stressful situations and adapt to changing priorities. You can adapt TNA frameworks innovatively to meet customer needs.
General Competencies: The ability to persistently pursue and achieve effective results, manage performance, make effective decisions in a global market, understand the commercial environment, engage and work with others, build a network of relationships, support change and continuous improvement, and work independently with minimal supervision due to the remote nature of the TNA team.
Project Coordination Duties and Responsibilities: The ability to lead the performance of people on TNA projects globally and complete assurance activity on TNA outputs, plan and manage resource requirements for TNA and Training Design activity.
