Senior Traffic Signals Design Engineer in the United Kingdom (Remote) Job Description

We're seeking an experienced engineer to lead the design of complex signalised junctions, pedestrian crossings, and intelligent traffic control systems for various high-profile infrastructure projects. This role offers a 50/50 split between home working and onsite presence, suitable for conducting surveys, design validations, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities of the Senior Traffic Signals Design Engineer include:

  • Conduct on-site inspections, surveys, commissioning, and supervision
  • Prepare technical designs of complex signalised junctions and pedestrian crossings following approved procedures, including technical specifications
  • Provide technical oversight on new product or service ideas and develop plans for new designs
  • Prepare complex MOVA Designs and MOVA Datasets
  • Maintain good knowledge of design standards such as TSRGD, DMRB, and the Traffic Signs Manual
  • Perform MOVA Validations of complex junctions and roundabouts

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Previous experience in designing signalised junctions and pedestrian crossings is essential. The candidate should be seeking to advance to a Senior Design Services Engineer role and bring fresh perspectives to existing solutions within Traffic Signal Design industry.

Key Requirements:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Keysignals, OSC Mapper, and AutoTURN software
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Knowledge of TOPAS 2500A Traffic Signal Controller Specifications
  • Understanding of MOVA Tools, Datasets, and Linking
  • Knowledge of LinSig 3
  • Full UK Driving Licence
