Job summary

Achieve Group is partnering with a national energy company in London to appoint an experienced Senior Trader, LNG. The role combines responsibility for international trading performance, commercial strategy and team leadership.

The candidate will own profitability, develop strategies across markets, lead negotiations, evaluate suppliers, and oversee contract execution. A track record of 10+ years in LNG/gas trading and strong stakeholder skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Economics, Business Management or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of LNG or gas trading experience with a proven commercial track record.
• Established relationships with key LNG and gas market participants.
• Strong commercial judgement and experience managing international business activities.
• Solid understanding of the LNG and gas value chain, market dynamics and trading practices.
• Familiarity with trade regulations, commercial contracts and transaction terms.
• Strong negotiation, stakeholder coordination and communication skills with an analytical approach.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities;

• Take full ownership of the international LNG trading business’s profitability and P&L.
• Develop and implement trading strategies across spot, short-term and long-term markets.
• Lead commercial negotiations and structure procurement and sales plans for individual transactions.
• Evaluate potential LNG suppliers and conduct due diligence to support trading decisions.
• Oversee trading contract execution, monitoring delivery against agreed commercial terms.
• Prepare management reports covering trading performance, market developments and commercial intelligence.
• Manage trading processes in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Lead and develop the team, promoting collaboration and setting clear performance expectations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Economics, Business Management or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of LNG or gas trading experience, supported by a proven commercial track record.
• Established relationships with key participants across the LNG and gas markets.
• Strong commercial judgement and experience managing international business activities.
• Sound understanding of the global LNG and gas value chain, market dynamics and trading practices.
• Familiarity with relevant trade regulations, commercial contracts and transaction terms.
