Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Town Planner to join our expanding planning team in Wales and the SW England region. Based in Cardiff or Bristol, you will drive infrastructure delivery, secure consents, and develop relationships with clients across rail, water, energy, and regeneration projects.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, guide junior colleagues, and support growth across Wales and the SW England. A Chartered RTPI member with extensive planning experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree and/or Masters in Town Planning.
• Extensive town planning experience.
• Chartered Member of the RTPI.
• Experience preparing planning applications and reports.
• Experience with infrastructure, regeneration and environmental projects.
• Experience overseeing and/or project managing multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience mentoring junior staff.
• Experience working with both private and public sector clients.
• Ability to deliver planning strategies and consents across major projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a range of planning projects as part of the planning team.
• Lead and coordinate planning applications and liaise with stakeholders.
• Prepare inputs for planning applications, TWAOs, DCOs, ICOs and other consents.
• Lead bids for new work and grow the Wales & SW England planning team.
• Mentor junior staff and support chartership development.
• Develop relationships with clients and raise the profile of the planning team in the region.
