Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Associate Planner in Glasgow to advance to Associate Director, leading complex town planning projects from feasibility through to consent. The role offers hybrid working within a leading international consultancy and a clear path to senior leadership.

Ideal candidates hold a Town Planning degree with MRTPI or progress towards chartership, plus experience in planning consultancy or public sector settings and strong client management capabilities.

Qualifications

• A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
• MRTPI membership or working towards chartership.
• Experience in planning consultancy, multidisciplinary consultancy, or relevant public sector environment.
• Strong understanding of the UK planning system, legislation and planning policy.
• Experience managing planning applications and providing strategic planning advice.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing a variety of planning projects from feasibility to consent and delivery.
• Providing strategic planning advice to clients across public and private sectors.
• Preparing, managing and coordinating planning applications and supporting documentation.
• Working on major infrastructure and development projects (energy, transport, water, regeneration).
• Advising on planning policy, development strategy and statutory processes.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including environmental consultants and engineers.
• Managing client relationships and supporting business development activities.
