Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is sourcing an Associate Planner in Glasgow with a view to progressing to Associate Director. You will lead and deliver complex planning projects for a prominent multidisciplinary consultancy, spanning infrastructure, energy, transport and regeneration sectors.

Role emphasizes client advisory, bid writing, and mentoring junior planners. A degree in Town Planning and MRTPI progression are expected, with a hybrid working pattern and strong professional development

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline
• MRTPI membership or working towards chartership
• Experience in planning consultancy, multidisciplinary consultancy or public sector
• Strong understanding of UK planning system, legislation and policy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage projects and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
• Proactive approach to business development

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a variety of planning projects from feasibility to planning consent and delivery
• Provide strategic planning advice to clients across public and private sectors
• Prepare, manage and coordinate planning applications and supporting documentation
• Work on major infrastructure and development projects in energy, transport, water and regeneration
• Advise on planning policy, development strategy and statutory processes
• Collaborate with environmental consultants, engineers and technical specialists
• Manage client relationships and act as a trusted planning advisor
• Support business development, including bid/tender submissions and opportunities
• Mentor junior team members to develop technical capabilities
