Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Senior Town Planner/Associate Town Planner to join a respected independent planning consultancy in Banbury. The role focuses on managing planning applications and appeals, delivering strategic planning advice across residential, commercial, and rural development projects.

The successful candidate will mentor junior staff, build client and stakeholder relationships, contribute to business development, and enjoy flexible hybrid working in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• MRTPI status or working towards chartered status is required.
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy is essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Commercial awareness and proactive client management are important.

Responsibilities

• Managing a wide range of planning applications, appeals, and development proposals.
• Providing strategic planning advice to private and public sector clients.
• Preparing planning appraisals, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Building and maintaining relationships with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders.
• Supporting business development initiatives and identifying new opportunities.
• Mentoring and supporting junior members of the planning team (Senior/Associate level).
