Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Senior Town Planner to join a planning-led consultancy with offices in Cornwall or Devon. The role involves leading complex planning applications, advising private sector clients, and mentoring junior staff within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will have MRTPI, strong UK planning policy knowledge, and a track record in consultancy or developer-side work. Hybrid working and clear progression to leadership are offered.

Qualifications

• Chartered Member of the RTPI with MRTPI status.
• Proven private sector planning experience in consultancy or developer side.
• Strong client-facing communication and strategic advisory skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex planning applications, appeals and development strategies.
• Provide expert planning advice to private sector clients and landowners.
• Mentor junior planners and graduates.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships; contribute to business development.
