Job summary

GREEN PLANNING SERVICES in Shrewsbury is seeking an experienced and dynamic senior planner to join our growing team. You will work across England & Wales, shaping planning strategies, supporting clients, and delivering planning permissions for mixed-use and development projects.

You should have broad experience of the English and Welsh planning system, strong data analysis, and the ability to coordinate complex cases from appointment to determination, including negotiations with LPAs and

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of the English planning system and policies.
• Demonstrable experience managing the planning process from enquiry to determination and beyond.
• Meticulous data handling and analysis skills.
• Experience with Certificates of Lawfulness, Enforcement and Land Use Planning is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to research and analyse planning history and policy to support appraisals and proposals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage client relationships.
• Formulate planning strategies and provide policy advice to the team.
• Prepare statements and supporting docs for planning applications, certificates of lawfulness and appeals.
• Coordinate and manage complex planning cases from appointment to determination.

Monday to Friday – Working from Home Available

Shrewsbury (Shropshire)

We are an expanding planning-led consultancy working across England & Wales supporting business, communities and individual clients with planning strategies, site appraisals, delivering planning permissions for mixed-use, open market and custom and self-build homes, park and leisure home sites and winning permission in areas of constraint.

We have particular a strength in dealing with planning enforcement, planning appeals, caravan site licensing, prior approvals and certificates of lawful use.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic senior planner to join our team with the opportunity to shape the role to build on your strengths. You should have broad experience of the English and Welsh planning system with the skills and competency to support and assist our directors and senior team to grow the business into new sectors while building on our client base in those areas where we are already leading.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Extensive Knowledge of the English planning system and policies
• Post Grad and/or RTPI accredited qualification – Desirable but not essential with appropriate experience in the UK planning system
• Demonstrable experience management of the planning process from initial enquiry to determination and beyond
• A meticulous approach to dealing with data is essential
• Experience of Certificates of Lawfulness, Enforcement and Land Use Planning is desirable but not essential
• The ability to carry out thorough and logical research and analysis of planning history and policy to support planning appraisals, statements and development proposals
