Senior Town Planner - Cardiff

My client is a UK leading multi-disciplinary consultancy that, due to an exciting period of growth, is looking to recruit an experienced Town Planner to join their dynamic Planning team based in Cardiff. The range of work on offer is wide and varied, providing rich experience in town planning through a broad spectrum of projects including residential, mixed-use developments, data centres, airports, retail, logistics, and major infrastructure projects.

What you will be doing

You will assist in strategic planning work, including preparing representations for Local Plan consultations and developing planning strategies to promote land and development within Local Plans. Your duties will include:

  1. Supporting Planning Directors in delivering their planning caseloads, including preparing Planning Statements and representations to Local Plan consultations.
  2. Developing your written and oral communication techniques.
  3. Engaging directly in business development initiatives.
  4. Guiding Planners, Assistant Planners, Graduates, and Apprentices.
Candidate Requirements
  • A fully qualified RTPI chartered town planner, with experience in a planning consultancy or local government role is ideal.
  • A keen interest in planning, development, and environmental issues.
  • A good working knowledge of planning policy.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
  • A strategic thinker capable of addressing problems effectively.
  • Market awareness and a solid understanding of local planning issues.
