What You'll Do

Are you passionate about transforming the creative process in Linear Content Production and Motion Design? Epic Games is seeking a talented and innovative Tools Engineer to join our Virtual Production team. In this role, you'll develop cutting-edge tools that enhance both motion design and linear content workflows, playing a crucial part in the evolution of digital storytelling. Your work will empower artists and creators, streamline workflows, and enhance the overall production experience. In this role, you will
  • Lead the development of our Motion Design feature set, including 2D layer compositing, material designer, cloners and particle simulation, media playback, and UX/UI.
  • Support the integration of motion design and linear content creation tools with other parts of the Unreal ecosystem such as Sequencer, Movie Render Queue, USD, Remote Control, nDisplay and real time graphics features.
  • Advance the linear content production tools in Unreal Engine.
What we're looking for
  • Programming experience, with a strong emphasis on C++.
  • Familiarity with Motion Design workflows.
  • Experience with UX/UI development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to lead a team of developers.
  • Excellent communication skills.

This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including CA & WA).

Pay Transparency Information

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).

California Base Pay Range

$215,921 — $316,683 USD

Washington Base Pay Range

$202,965 — $297,682 USD
