Role Overview

We are hiring Software Engineers across various levels (Senior, Lead, and Principal) to support high-priority defence and national security programmes. These are onsite roles based in Cheltenham, working on long-term, mission-critical systems that shape the future of UK defence technology.

Responsibilities

• Work with modern Java-based tech stacks to deliver scalable, resilient software solutions.
• Contribute to infrastructure, data, and cloud transformation projects.
• Participate in agile delivery and uphold engineering excellence.
• Influence architecture and design decisions.
• Mentor team members and contribute to the enhancement of national security platforms.

Key Technologies & Skills

• Java (primary language) with exposure to JavaScript or Python
• Cloud platforms: AWS or Azure
• DevOps tooling: Jenkins, GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
• Databases: SQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch
• Experience with agile delivery and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in secure or regulated environments
