Job description

Senior Therapeutic Practitioner/Team Leader - Young People

Location: Olton, Solihull. West Midlands

Hours: 40 hours per week including 1 sleep night

Salary: Up to £15/hr plus Excellent Benefits

Do you have experience working in Children's Residential Care? Are you attracted by the opportunity to join an Ofsted rated OUTSTANDING provider, who are passionate about building a therapeutic home that will focus on all aspects of the children's development? My Client specialise in care for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, taking a holistic approach to care. They ensure that all aspects of a young person's development are accounted for in order to inform our tailored therapeutic approach for them.

Duties:

  • To help support young people living within our therapeutic care home.
  • To provide a safe, nurturing environment for young people to flourish.
  • To promote health and well-being, education, positive relationships, independence, and activities in accordance with the children's homes regulations. You will implement boundaries and be consistent with the therapeutic care provided by the home for young people.
  • To play a central role as a Key Worker in delivering high-quality, child-focused care, in line with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, the Quality Standards, and Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018). You are responsible for the holistic support of a named young person, encompassing their care planning, emotional wellbeing, therapeutic engagement, and preparation for independence.

Skills Required:

  • You will have solid experience working in a Residential Children's Care home along with knowledge and experience of Safeguarding practices. An understanding and experience of working with young people with Emotional and/or Behavioral difficulties is required as well as the ability to work in challenging environments and leading excellence in care.
  • Experience working in a therapeutic environment is highly advantageous.
  • You will ideally be working towards your Level 3/4 Diploma for Residential Childcare. An equivalent qualification will be considered.
