Job description

Job Title: Senior Therapeutic Carer within a Children's Home

Salary: £35,120 starting salary.

Shift Patterns: 48-hour shifts with occasional 24-hour shifts (depending on rota; rota confirmed 6 months in advance).

Sleep Ins: Yes / Essential; 8 to 10 per month.

On-Call Duties: Yes.

Working Hours: 165 hours per month.

Driver Required: Yes / Essential.

Qualifications Required: Level 3 or equivalent in Residential Childcare.

Experience Required: Yes, 1 year within Children’s Residential Childcare.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Providing one-to-one therapeutic care for children aged 6-17 with backgrounds of trauma and neglect, acting as a role model.
  • Ensuring children experience a fulfilling childhood with fun, laughter, and discovery.
  • Participating in daily home operations and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Creating a positive environment that allows children to express themselves and feel safe.
  • Supporting social and educational activities, including family contact, appointments, holidays, and leisure activities.
  • Working with a supportive team and manager to meet all children's needs.
