We are seeking competent Senior Theatre/Anaesthetics/Recovery Practitioners who can work across various specialties and deputize in the absence of a team leader. Experience in Anaesthetics, Scrub, or Recovery roles is desirable.

The post holder should foster a positive learning environment and actively pursue opportunities for self-development and competency acquisition. Recruitment, training, and staff development are essential for delivering safe, efficient, and timely patient care. Our ethos is 'Building outstanding theatre teams,' with staff development at its core. The Post Holder must serve as an expert resource for clinical staff and students, participating in supervision, training, and support of learners in Theatre.

Delivering high standards of service with a focus on patient safety and quality is paramount. Candidates should demonstrate effective teamwork and adherence to evidence-based practices.

The post holder will be an integral member of the theatre team, providing leadership and guidance, maintaining high standards of practice and care. Collaboration with the Theatre management team to support development and implement positive changes within the department is expected.

Main duties of the job
  • Function as a competent clinical Scrub/Anaesthetic/Recovery Practitioner within the designated clinical area.
  • Deliver direct patient care, coordinating and overseeing theatre practice.
  • Ensure the delivery of clinical activities during their shift.
  • Utilize resources efficiently and effectively to provide the highest quality care to patients.

The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford, has 11 operating theatres: 5 main theatres, 4 in the elective hub, and 2 Maternity Theatres. An on-call team covers the main and maternity theatres 24/7. The hospital services include Trauma & Orthopaedics, ENT, Max-Fax, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Breast surgery, CEPOD, and Maternity.
