A healthcare trust in Northamptonshire is seeking a Senior Theatre Practitioner responsible for delivering high-quality surgical care in foot and ankle procedures. Candidates should be registered Operating Department Practitioners or Theatre Nurses with extensive operating theatre experience, specifically in a scrub role. The position includes coordinating the theatre team and ensuring patient safety and standards of care are met. We are looking for a highly motivated and professional HCPC/NMC registered Operating Department Practitioner/Theatre Nurse, to work with a team providing high quality care for patients who attend the service for the surgical and non-surgical management of foot and ankle pathology. Experience in Orthopedic/Podiatric Surgery scrub and previous Band 6 theatre/ management is essential.
The postholder will be working with Podiatric Surgery Consultants, Registrars, Podiatrists, ODP's, Theatre Assistant, HCA's, and Administration staff. The service offers Outpatient Clinics at Danetre Hospital Daventry, with Day Surgery based at the facilities of Danetre Hospital. The service is currently open from Monday to Friday.
This role will mainly include working within the Day Surgery Unit supporting the theatre team to deliver the bi-weekly surgical lists, working alongside Podiatric Consultants and the rest of the team, the remainder of the time will be spent in clinic and supporting administrative/organisational duties linked with service delivery, both based at Danetre Hospital.
The post holder will be required to deputise and work in partnership with the existing Theatre Team Lead to ensure a positive patient experience whilst in Podiatric Surgery delivering high standards of care throughout the department.
