This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in ground-breaking and high-profile defence projects valued in the hundreds of millions. You will be part of an industry-leading team, collaborating with Marshall, major defence stakeholders, and prime contractors.

The successful candidate will be employed as a fixed wing Test Pilot (TP), primarily based in Cambridge, with remote working options available.

MA Flight Test conducts post-maintenance test flights on various marks of C130, modification flight trials, and experimental and certification test programmes on C130 and other platforms. The team also provides Flight Test services to industry and military clients and offers SME advice across the company and beyond.

Responsibilities:

• Planning, preparing, conducting, and managing flight trials
• Delivering the Flight Test flying programme
• Acting as project TP for various programmes
• Providing SME advice internally and externally
• Updating and maintaining MA Flight Test regulatory documentation (Civil and Military)
• Collaborating with MA Crew Training Post Holder to maintain flight crew qualifications, competencies, and currency
• Contributing to ASMS activities as required
• Representing CTP as needed

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in a flight test pilot role on a range of projects
• Knowledge of fixed wing aircraft performance, handling qualities, and systems
• Working knowledge of UK Military Aviation Authority regulations and UK CAA/EASA regulations related to flight test (CS25, Part 21J)
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills
• Ability to obtain/hold UK CPL with Class 1 TP rating
• Medically fit for UK CAA Class 1 Medical
• Ability to meet security requirements of MA personnel
• Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation
• Flexibility to meet the role's needs

Highly Desirable Criteria:

• Experience as a C130J test pilot (last flown within 2 years)
• UK CAA Airline Transport Pilot's Licence (ATPL) with IR and Class 1 TP rating
• Experience with flight test including software trials
• Instructional experience or rating
• Recent flying practice (at least 50 hours in the last 12 months) with recency in test flying
