Role overview:

As a Senior Test Engineer, we’re looking for an experienced test specialist to work with our media client on their Tech Group testing team. The important role involves shaping, refining and delivering the strategic and operational testing strategy where we are migrating existing data to a brand new infrastructure.

This exciting position offers the opportunity to work on a greenfield project and has all aspects of the software development life cycle including architecture, design, specifications, tests, development and delivery – there will be contribution to the test writing and maintaining the test suite that supports this effort.

The successful applicant will have experience with data migration projects, testing ETL pipelines, and strong database skills being comfortable constructing queries and interrogating SQL databases. Additionally, they will be an active participant in sharing learning throughout the organisation through active dissemination of knowledge and working with people across multiple solutions and existing testing teams to deliver across a multi-work streamprogramme.

You will:

• Have experience of data migration projects
• Have strong experience working with databases (ideally SQL Server and Oracle)
• Have good knowledge of applying QA best practices in a complex business domain
• Have an ability to lead on overall tests strategy and provide a QA voice during planning sessions
• Be comfortable testing pipelines of multiple interdependent upstream and downstream systems
• Be a fast learner
• Be used to working with other team members to define test requirements on tickets and provide test input during all stages of development
• Have experienced working in an Agile team
• Be a keen team player with a strong willingness to learn

Experience:

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work-based experience.
• Proven experience as a Senior Tester Engineer, ideally with a focus on media-related projects.
• Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques, and methodologies.
• Experience with providing coaching and mentoring
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios.
• Knowledge of software development tools and technologies.
• You are flexible and curious in your approach
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Additional information

Duration of the contract:until 31 March 2026 with the possibility of extension – contract FTC (full-time)
