Job summary

CACI UK is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to join an agile delivery team on live projects in the public sector streams. The role requires strong automation in Java and Selenium WebDriver, with AWS testing experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Due to sector requirements, candidates must be able to obtain high-level security clearance and be a British passport holder who has lived in the UK for the last 5 years.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in test automation engineering with Java and Selenium WebDriver.
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining scalable UI and API automation frameworks.
• Commercial experience with AWS cloud environments and testing cloud-native apps.
• Practical experience in Agile and DevOps delivery, applying TDD/BDD/ATDD and continuous testing.
• Strong understanding of functional, integration, regression, end-to-end testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test solutions using Java, Selenium WebDriver and open-source tools.
• Design, build and execute automated UI and API test frameworks across complex delivery programmes.
• Perform testing in AWS cloud environments and validate cloud-based services and integrations.
• Collaborate with Agile/DevOps teams to embed automation in CI/CD pipelines.
• Deliver automation using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO and other tools.
• Execute functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing with manual/exploratory testing where needed.
• Contribute to QA process improvements and testing standards across projects.

Role: Senior Test Automation Engineer

Offices: Bristol, Kensington, Bromley, Manchester, Cheltenham

Due to nature of the sector this role would be part of, we require all our team to be able to obtain high level security clearance. To qualify for this, you must be a British passport holder only and have lived permanently in the UK for the last 5 years.

The Role:

As a Senior Test Engineer, you will join one of our, fast-paced, agile delivery teams. Working on one of our in flight projects, you will play a key role to ensure continuous automated testing is implemented, early and often, as a part of a CI/CD lifecycle.

Testing at IIG consists of a wide range of responsibilities, the list below gives a flavour of some of the tasks you may be asked to undertake;

• Develop and maintain automated test solutions using Java, Selenium WebDriverand a range of open-source testing tools and frameworks.
• Design, build, and execute automatedUI and API test frameworks to support quality assurance across complex digital delivery programmes.
• Perform testing withinAWS cloud environments, validating cloud-based applications, services, and integrations.
• Work withinAgile and DevOps teams, applying TDD, BDD, ATDD, and continuous testing practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient, reliable, and repeatable software delivery.
• Deliver automation using other technologies such asSelenium, Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO, Cucumber, Serenity BDD, Robot Framework, and Rest Assured.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing, supported by manual and exploratory testing where appropriate.
• Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and wider delivery teams to define test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and quality outcomes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, automation frameworks, tooling, and testing standards across projects.

• Proven experience in test automation engineering, with strong hands-on expertise in Java and Selenium WebDriver.
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining scalable UI and API automation frameworks using industry-standard open-source tools.
• Commercial experience/certification with AWS cloud environments and experience testing cloud-native applications, services and integrations.
• Practical experience working within Agile and DevOps delivery teams, applying TDD, BDD, ATDD and continuous testing principles.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, exploratory and API testing.
• Experience working in Agile & ideally with Gherkin, Cucumber
• Extensive working experience with Jira, Confluence.
