Job summary

Tata Technologies invites applications for a Test Engineer to work at our client site in Gaydon. You will contribute to verification and validation of vehicle systems and embedded components across simulation, bench, rig and vehicle environments.

The role requires experience in system/vehicle testing, scripting, and robust defect reporting. You will work within the Embedded Systems Solutions group to ensure ASPICE-aligned processes and deliverables.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in electrical, electronic, software, automotive or test engineering.
• System or vehicle test experience.
• Requirements-based test development and execution experience.
• Knowledge of automotive networks and electronic systems.
• Strong defect reporting, data analysis and troubleshooting capability.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements and develop test specifications, procedures and traceability.
• Prepare test environments, configurations, equipment and data acquisition.
• Execute manual and automated functional, network and system tests.
• Perform tests on SIL, HIL, rigs, lab cars and vehicles as applicable.
• Capture logs, traces and measurements and assess acceptance criteria.
• Raise defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
• Support root cause investigation, retest and regression activities.
• Maintain test coverage, execution status and validation reports.
• Support test automation and continuous improvement.

Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.

Scope of Role

Plan, execute and report verification and validation activities for vehicle systems, software and electronic components across simulation, bench, rig and vehicle environments.
