The Senior Test Analyst is responsible for creating test cases based on in-depth technical analysis of both functional and non-functional specifications (such as reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability, and portability). They create traceability records linking test cases to requirements, produce automated and manual test scripts, materials, and regression test packs to test new and amended software or services.
This role involves specifying requirements for environment, data, resources, and tools, interpreting, executing, and documenting complex test scripts, and maintaining a defect register. The Senior Test Analyst reviews test results, modifies tests as necessary, and reports on progress, anomalies, risks, and issues. They also provide system quality metrics and guidance to support others, review requirements, define test conditions, and mentor junior team members.
