Job Description:

The Role

  • Assist in creating and delivering the business plan for the Political Violence team, driving underwriting efforts to meet targeted income levels and growth targets.
  • Underwrite Political Violence risks, exercising judgment within established limits, and in accordance with the underwriting business plan.
  • Lead projects and initiatives such as new sub-classes and products to serve clients and diversify the portfolio in terms of risk and income.
  • Conduct book reviews, monitor portfolio performance, and ensure execution of the business plan.
  • Monitor and record all aggregate and reporting information accurately.
  • Review slips and other documentation, using knowledge and experience to exercise judgment within authority limits.
  • Negotiate new wordings and structures to meet client needs and regulatory requirements, maintaining prudent risk appetite aligned with underwriting strategy.
  • Follow and maintain company procedures and systems as per manuals.
  • Address contract certainty issues for relevant risks and review existing contracts for amendments consistent with underwriting philosophy.
  • Monitor risk entry recordings and make necessary amendments.
  • Coordinate with Peer Review Group for appropriate information sharing and responses related to the Political Violence account.
