Due to expansion, our client is seeking a Senior Tender Engineer (Protection & Control) with an understanding of the Transmission, Distribution and Energy sector and its associated standards, with a Protection bias.

This is an exciting new role based on expansion with flexible working hours, typically between 9:30am - 3:00pm, with flexibility to start and finish around your schedule.

*** This role can be based remotely; however, travel to client sites will be required as needed. ***

The Role

In the tendering function, your daily tasks will include delivering Protection and Control solutions for the Transmission and Distribution Sector. Responsibilities include supporting or leading bids, completing pre-qualification and proposal documents, crafting solutions tailored to client needs, preparing cost estimates, and managing client inquiries. Knowledge of Substation Protection and Control systems, electrical engineering, PLC/SCADA architectures, and experience in design, implementation, testing, and commissioning are advantageous. The role may involve interpreting client requirements, developing solutions, identifying suppliers, and occasional travel to client or supplier sites.

Duties:
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers to provide technical support, system architectures, and cost estimates
  • Ensure compliance with bid governance and tendering processes
  • Develop and maintain relationships with technology providers
  • Conduct surveys on Transmission and Distribution sites to identify scope, scale, and philosophies of Protection and control schemes
  • Liaise with third-party suppliers, produce subcontract specifications, and review tenders for compliance and value
  • Create detailed Protection and control proposal documents
Desired Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Protection and Control — Software, Hardware, or Electrical engineering, with a solid understanding of development and execution processes
  • Experience with tendering, procurement, and commercial awareness
  • Ability to produce comprehensive technical and commercial proposal documents
  • Understanding of the Transmission, Distribution and Energy sector standards, with a Protection focus
